I am writing this while sitting in the middle of a nearby park and it’s such a glorious day! As I sit here I am taken by the juxtaposition of nature around me while also seeing and hearing all the construction and development that is happening behind me, here in the city. Life is that, peace and noise, all at the same time!
One of the reasons for the creation of Simply Divine Retreats is my interest in the Divine Feminine. An aspect of the Divine Feminine encourages and supports one’s connection to nature and its importance in the interplay of daily life. My aim with the various Simply Divine Retreats social media channels is to connect on a regular basis and share ideas and thoughts of what I have learned on this journey called life, to explore practices that resonate or encourage the connection to the Divine Feminine.
The Divine Feminine is not a gender thing, it is an energy thing. As humans, we actually have the energies of both the masculine and feminine within us. It is important to sit with that, and to think and feel what that means for you as an individual. As women, many of us of a certain generation came of age in a time that was more masculine ie in the business world. Due to this we ended up exposed to a lot of masculine traits, things like competition, aggression and high energy and some of these became part of who we are.
These traits are good things in the right scenario but for a lot of us, it also squashed the inner voice of the feminine. This awareness has led me to embark on a journey of learning more about myself and finding ways and values that resonate more with me. And the qualities of the
Divine Feminine do just that.
Divine Feminine values include things like beauty, nature, motherhood, love, compassion, and empathy. For me, these are values worth exploring! But they require a practice that will allow you to hone these qualities on a day-to-day basis.
One of the most important connections to the Divine Feminine is through a daily meditation practice. Today, on YouTube and other online platforms, one is able to start a meditation practice very easily. You can start with just 5 minutes a day of closing your eyes, deep breathing, not listening nor thinking about anything. It takes practice but meditation helps one to connect to themselves. This also helps to open up the avenue to the Divine Feminine.
Meditation is a very helpful practice and a means to get through tough days and chaotic times which occur in our day-to-day lives. Meditation is a good tool to help with your mental health, mood swings and anxiety. The blocking out of thoughts combined with the breathing will calm your anxious mind.
I also like to be near nature, like being next to the ocean, visiting parks, or hiking through forests. I always feel re-energized, renewed and uplifted when I have spent time in nature!
We shall continue to explore more themes on the Divine Feminine through my posts and YouTube channel.
